I am such a fan of creating a custom experience for everyone. I love love loved doing this custom queen theme and all the exotic jewelry and accessories that she brought. Some of the headdresses and jewelry were collected from her travels around the world!
Here's what she had to say when I asked her a few questions:
Have you ever done a boudoir shoot before? If so, how does your shoot with me compare to your prior experience?
Yes, I did one a gazillion years ago. My BFF at the time was doing a boudoir shoot to benefit her husband and wanted some “moral support” so asked if I would do one as well so we could book for the same time. I didn’t have any recipient in mind, but I was game! It sounded fun - and it was. I didn’t do any nudes, but I did end up with a racy holiday card for my nearest and dearest friends. LOL!
The experience with Angela was different and even better. Besides the fact that I had done non-racy holiday cards with Angela before – I adore her talent and her person – I was now 30 years older and felt more confident in my place in life to approach it more erotically. Plus I had a theme in mind, which is always super fun for me.
When Angela said that I can have prints put on playing cards, I was OBSESSED with the notion and created five looks themed around Queens and the regal headdresses I own.
How is it that I own so many headdresses, you might ask. I’ve always loved costumes, exotic jewelry, and putting on a performance.
Everything I wore in the boudoir shoot was either found on my travels (the pearl crown and the gold hand flowers were collected on a business trip to Dubai back in 2000), added to my costume collection when I was performing at Fantasy & Renn Faires (the white leather “evil queen” tiara, the blue leather butterfly mask, and the red veiled courtly head circle), and all of the lingerie was binge shopping at either Honey Birdette or Cosabella (both excellent sources for exotic and colorful lingerie).
Why did you do your boudoir shoot?
Some days I look in the mirror and I think, Yeah, I look good today. Other days – most days - I look in the mirror and all I see is my weight and I think less nice thoughts.
When I saw that Angela was having a holiday booking special, and because I had previously experienced her non-boudoir photography sessions, I immediately thought, I want something I can look at and always feel good about I see myself. I want to show off my body positively TO MYSELF.
What was your favorite part of the session?
Angela is just so damned much fun and her unedited, sincerely-felt comments about how I looked were a real ego booster. Plus, my hair and makeup looked insanely great!
What did doing this shoot do for your self confidence, self worth, and self image? Tell me your story
The entire reason I did the boudoir shoot was to boost my self-image, and it definitely worked! Ironically, I probably won’t even show the photos to any of the men in my life – I want them just for myself (and for the close friends I’ll force to play cards with me!).
Was your experience what you were expecting? If not, how was it different?
It was what I was expecting, what I was hoping for, and even that much more fun. Also, major props to Angela for putting in the hard effort to untangle the gold chain bra and garter – my word I didn’t think that was going to come together (especially after I initially put the garter on as the bra)!
What was the best part of your experience? Would you change anything?
The best part was the increasing confidence and brazenness I felt as the photo shoot progressed. And by the end of it, I felt so damned attractive. I wouldn’t change a thing.
